Video Poker Probability on Royal Flush Frequency

The fate of a gambler for a more profitable return while playing the video poker machine typically lies on the number of frequency of getting a royal flush. The video poker players derive a positive outcome probability once they have drawn at least a single royal flush from their gambling activity in video poker.

Hitting the royal flush while playing the video poker machine gives poker players the highest probability of winning big. From this stand point, a common question that a video poker player asks is how often is the probability of drawing a royal flush hand while playing in a video poker machine.

Statistically, the probability of hitting the royal flush usually takes a player to make a hand on the average of 40,000 times. This is the average number of hands a video poker player needs to play in order to have the chance to draw a royal flush. Being an average number of hands to be played by a player there is the likelihood that a video poker player can hit the royal flush sooner or later with this hand frequency.

Based on this premise, the number of frequency of getting a royal flush is dependent on the number of hands played by the video poker player. A graphical study was made to estimate the number of frequency of getting a royal flush based on the number of hands played by the poker player while playing the video poker machine.

The result shows that playing about 4,000 hands will give a less than 10% probability of drawing a royal flush. The 90% remaining probability reflects the chance of not getting the royal flush.

For a typical visit to Las Vegas casinos by an out-of-towner gambler which is about five days play with an equivalent of 20,000 hands, hitting a single royal flush gives about 30% probability. The likelihood of not getting the royal flush for this number of hands is about 60% while about more than 7% probability there is on hitting two royal flushes on this hand frequency.

To play a hand of 100,000, it takes about a year for a video poker player to reach this point which gives them the odds of hitting a royal flush five times in year with 10% probability. After 10 years of playing video poker the player will probably have played a million hands which give them a 53% probability of hitting 7 royal flushes.

The study can simply be stated that the number of frequency of drawing a royal flush is dependent on the number of hand frequency played by a video poker player. The more hands a player plays on the video poker machine the greater is the probability of getting close to hitting the royal flush.
